SYNCROFLO

Founded in the early 60s, SyncroFlo pioneered the field of pre-assembled pumping systems. Today, SyncroFlo’s extensive production and installation facilities build one after another.

History begins

Founded in the early 60s, SyncroFlo pioneered pre-assembled pumping systems. Today, the base of our installed system includes some of the largest pumping systems ever built. SyncroFlo forms a division of Schaub Engineering, a Chicago-based company that manufactures power plant equipment.

Schaub has several parts, one as a pump and another as a flow switch. SyncroFlo was the first company to prepackage a pumping system for domestic water (plumbing).

Two other companies were also advertising plumbing pump packaging at the time: Peerless and Chicago Pump. The packages advertised by these companies are what we call “kits,” meaning the contractor still builds them on site. SyncroFlo, Inc. initiated the concept of assembling these kits into a complete system before shipment to ensure quality.

In the early 70s, Schaub decided to devote all of his resources to building equipment for a new power plant, the nuclear power plant. Schaub has divested itself of all non-nuclear related parts. Twenty-five years later, SyncroFlo now employs about 100 people.

In the late 1980s, SyncroFlo began building contracts for HVAC, fire protection, and lawn irrigation and grew into the company the industry knows us as today.

SyncroFlo forms as a division of Schaub Engineering, a Chicago-based company that manufactures power plant equipment. Schaub had several parts, one of which made a pump and another that did the flow conversion. SyncroFlo was the first company to package pump systems for domestic (plumbing) water use.

Thrustream – split case pumps

Experience from harsh environments such as offshore oil and gas installations has led to the creation of the SyncroFlo FM/UL Thrustream line of fire pumps. Thrustream validated for fire resistance by FM Laboratories. The SyncroFlo Thrustream FM/UL fire pump can operate in a range from 200 USgpm to 5000 USgpm and is suitable for electric or diesel transmission. SyncroFlo also has a line of vertical, horizontal, and coaxial pumps. SyncroFlo Thrustream FM/UL fire pumps are available with an inch or metric fittings.

Usually installed for:

    • Office building
    • Hospital
    • Airport
    • Production facilities
    • Power station
    • Pharmaceutical facility
    • Schools

Used in applications such as:

    • Sprinkler system
    • Water system
    • Flood discharge system

SyncroFlo coaxial vertical pumps are available up to 1500 USgpm and are suitable for the electric drive only. The SyncroFlo coaxial vertical pump can also supply a pre-wired package that includes a partial or complete service controller.

All equipment packages mount on a base constructed of steel with the motor connected to the controller. The automatic air release valve, casing relief valve, suction gauge, and discharge gauge mount on their respective gasket tubes. Additional pipes, valves, and sensor lines integrate with In-Line packages. The SyncroFlo In-Line package system also includes a compensating pump and a compensating pump controller.

Vertical shaft turbine pump

The best pumping engineering solution is the multistage vertical turbine pump, whether the fire protection water source is located below ground or above the tank. The propellers are entirely submerged in water and are always in good working order with this type of device—the pump drive by a vertical electric motor or a diesel engine through a right angle gearbox. SyncroFlo vertical turbine pumps can specifically design for the oil and gas industry. They can handle fresh or seawater for cooling purposes, fire protection duties, general water supply, and washdown or drilling water. They can also use them to handle crude oil or control spills. For platform or wharf locations, They can use them for under-deck discharge.
