Is DSVE a single-volute centrifugal pump?
No. Cross-checked against Dooch's official product page (the FSTE diesel-engine system), DSVE's main pump is a vertical multistage centrifugal pump (XRFE code, on the same XR(L)/XRF platform) combined with a diesel engine — not a single-volute pump. A prior "single volute" note in the technical data was a data-extraction inconsistency and has been reviewed and corrected.
Why choose a diesel main pump over an electric one for fire protection?
A diesel pump doesn't depend on grid power — it can be started via battery regardless of the power-supply status, meeting fire-code requirements for a backup source independent of the grid, while also saving the cost of a separate emergency generator.
What fire-protection standards does DSVE meet?
Per the manufacturer's product page, the corresponding diesel-engine system (FSTE) is optimized to Korea's fire-protection code (NFTC — National Fire Safety Technical Code).
