Air blower generates high-volume airflow at low pressure by displacing air volume through rotors (3-lobe Roots or screw), centrifugal acceleration (turbo), or using a side-channel impeller (ring blower). Unlike high-pressure air compressors, air blowers are optimized for high flow rates at low pressure and 100% oil-free air in the working gas path.
Classification by technology: side-channel / ring blower (side-channel impeller, low flow, very quiet, non-contact rotor requiring virtually no maintenance — suited for pond aeration and light vacuum); Roots (3-lobe, simple, low cost, pressure up to ~1.000 mbar); screw (internal compression, high efficiency, energy saving at high pressure, up to ~3.500 mbar); turbo (high-speed centrifugal, very high flow rates). Many models can also operate in vacuum mode (up to -500 mbar).
