What equipment does MBS manufacture?
MBS S.r.l. (Parma, Italy — part of the CSF Inox Group since 2008) manufactures heat exchangers: shell-and-tube types using corrugated-tube technology, and scraped-surface types. Four lines: Mixflo (sanitary), Crossflo/Multiflo (industrial), Pharmaflo (pharmaceutical) and Hercules (scraped-surface). These are heat exchangers, not pumps.
What is corrugated-tube technology?
Corrugated tubes have a spirally embossed surface instead of being smooth, creating turbulent flow even at low velocity. The turbulence breaks the boundary layer, raising the heat-transfer coefficient, reducing fouling and improving self-cleaning — giving a more compact unit for the same thermal duty.
Do MBS heat exchangers meet hygiene standards?
Yes. The Mixflo MLW and Pharmaflo lines are EHEDG and 3-A certified; materials are AISI 304/316L with low-Ra polished surfaces (Pharmaflo electropolished to Ra <0.5 µm) and CIP/SIP support. Pharmaflo has a double tube-sheet against cross-contamination for pharma. PED compliant; Hercules carries the ASME U-stamp.
Which MBS line should I choose for my product?
Mixflo for sanitary liquid products (milk, juice, beer); Crossflo/Multiflo for high pressure/temperature industry (up to 16 bar, 210°C); Pharmaflo for pharma requiring cross-contamination protection; Hercules scraped-surface for high-viscosity, particulate products (ketchup, ice cream, chocolate).
