The mechanical seal is the #1 leakage point on chemical pumps. After 6–18 months of operation with concentrated acid, alkali, solvents — the seal wears → droplet leakage → toxic fumes, base corrosion, motor corrosion, risk of operator chemical burns. Every seal replacement: shutdown + clean + replace.

Using non-virgin PP for HF — PP swells, cracks. Using stainless steel for concentrated HCl — pitting within 2 weeks. Chrome electroplating, semicon HF, NaOCl scrubber require PVDF virgin grade or Tefzel-lined ANSI body — no alternative.

Standard centrifugal pumps are not self-priming (no self-prime). When pumping from underground pits, sumps, 200L drums, or tanks below elevation → operator must manually prime with acid/solvent (PPE risk), or install foot valves prone to clogging/leakage. SP Series self-prime 7.6 m resolves this — no manual priming required.

Chinese pumps without cert, without 3.1 EN 10204 material traceability, cannot pass pharma GMP, food FDA, ATEX Zone 1 for solvent audits. Audit fail = production delay, loss of EU/US orders, full pump skid rework.
