Fuel depots, tank trucks & refuelling

Gorman-Rupp has built equipment for petroleum-based liquids since the 1950s. Self-priming O Series and its PTO version for refuelling trucks, the spark-arrested 80 Series Shield-A-Spark, Roto-Prime separating air continuously while offloading tank trucks, and G Series gear pumps for asphalt and heavy fuel oil.

Questions frequently asked

How does the PTO pump differ from the standard O Series?
The difference is the power source. The standard version uses an electric motor or dedicated engine; the PTO version draws power from the vehicle's power take-off through an integrated gear reducer. The hydraulic end shares the O Series platform, but the PTO model range is narrower and optimised for vehicle mounting.
What vehicle details are needed to select a model?
The power take-off type and ratio, engine speed range while pumping, and available chassis mounting space. Add the fuel to be pumped and the required fill rate. With these, the engineer can confirm the model and gear reducer ratio.
Why does the manufacturer page say 1,200 GPM while this page says 400 GPM?
The manufacturer's product page covers the whole PTO group including large configurations up to 8" for water transfer and dust control. The 400 GPM figure here comes from brochure AV-05974, the range for the fuel-dispensing group Thai Khuong distributes. If a project needs a larger range, engineers will look up the appropriate configuration and confirm it with the manufacturer.
Are there extra requirements for airport refuelling vehicles?
Yes. Aviation refuelling is subject to specific rules on filtration, free-water control and the operator's procedures. The pump is one link in the chain and must match the filter-water separator, meter and bonding system on the vehicle. Share the operator's specific requirements so engineers can propose a suitable configuration.
What is the warranty?
Per Gorman-Rupp policy, up to 60 months depending on the pump line (document AV-05427). The term applying to a specific order is stated in the Thai Khuong quotation.

Bơm O Series PTO là gì?

O Series PTO là bản dẫn động trích lực của dòng O Series: thay vì dùng motor điện hay động cơ riêng,
bơm lấy công suất trực tiếp từ hộp trích lực (power take-off) của xe qua một hộp giảm tốc tích hợp. Nhờ vậy
xe bồn, xe tra nạp nhiên liệu máy bay hay xe chở nước có thể bơm ngay bằng động cơ sẵn có, không phải mang
thêm nguồn điện hay máy nổ. Thân bơm gọn và nhẹ, đặt vừa khoảng trống giữa hai thanh ngang khung sát-xi.

Vì sao dùng dẫn động PTO cho xe tra nạp

Với đội xe tra nạp, tốc độ bơm quyết định thời gian quay vòng. Dẫn động PTO cho phép điều chỉnh lưu
lượng theo vòng quay động cơ, đáp ứng được yêu cầu tốc độ nạp của từng loại phương tiện phục vụ. Bỏ được máy
phát và động cơ phụ cũng đồng nghĩa bớt một nguồn phát tia lửa trên xe chở nhiên liệu, và giảm khối lượng
chết mà xe phải mang theo.

Dải thông số theo tài liệu hãng

Theo brochure AV-05974, dòng PTO có hai cỡ chính: model O2F cỡ 2″×2″ đạt 178 GPM và cột áp 444 ft, model
O3H cỡ 3″×3″ đạt 400 GPM và cột áp 270 ft. Quy đổi ra đơn vị quen dùng, lưu lượng tối đa của dòng là 91 m³/h
và cột áp tối đa 135 m. Vật liệu gồm nhôm và gang dẻo, nhiệt độ lưu chất tới 71 °C. Trang sản phẩm hiện hành
của hãng công bố dải rộng hơn cho cả nhóm PTO gồm cỡ tới 8″ và lưu lượng tới 1.200 GPM, phần vượt ngoài
brochure này thuộc các cấu hình chuyển nước và dập bụi, không nằm trong nhóm tra nạp nhiên liệu.

Real-world applications

Hãng nêu rõ hai nhóm việc chính: tra nạp nhiên liệu cho máy bay và phương tiện, và chuyển nước hoặc dập
bụi tại mỏ đá. Ở Việt Nam, nhóm dùng nhiều là xe tra nạp sân bay, xe bồn cấp phát nhiên liệu cho công trường
và đội xe, cùng xe téc phục vụ tưới đường và dập bụi tại mỏ khai thác.

Lưu ý khi chọn

Cần biết trước ba thông số của xe: kiểu và tỷ số hộp trích lực, dải vòng quay động cơ khi bơm, và
khoảng trống lắp đặt trên khung sát-xi. Ba yếu tố này quyết định model và tỷ số hộp giảm tốc đi kèm. Ngoài ra
phải chốt loại nhiên liệu để chọn vật liệu seal, và xác nhận yêu cầu an toàn phòng cháy của đơn vị quản lý
phương tiện.
