The Gorman-Rupp O Series self-priming pump is an above-ground self-priming centrifugal for clean fuels: flow to 307 m³/h, head to 122 m, port sizes 2" - 6", liquid temperature to 71 °C. Straight-in suction and an enclosed impeller deliver high efficiency on gasoline, fuel oil, ethanol, biodiesel and solvents while eliminating the foot valve. A close-coupled version with explosion-proof motor is available for classified hazardous areas.

Fuel depots, tank trucks & refuelling

Gorman-Rupp has built equipment for petroleum-based liquids since the 1950s. Questions frequently asked

Which fuels can the O Series handle?
The manufacturer's literature lists gasoline, fuel oil, ethanol, biodiesel, petrochemicals and solvents. Each formulation requires matching gasket and seal-face materials, typically Viton or Teflon. Provide the fluid name and properties with your enquiry so the engineer can confirm the correct material configuration.
How does the O Series differ from the 80 Series?
The O Series uses an enclosed impeller with straight-in suction, optimised for clean fuels with high efficiency and head to 122 m. The 80 Series uses an open impeller passing solids to 48 mm, tolerating dirtier liquids but at lower head (to 62 m). Choose the O Series for clean fluids needing high head, the 80 Series when the liquid carries debris.
Does the pump need a foot valve?
No. The casing retains liquid after the first prime, so the pump re-primes itself on subsequent starts without a foot valve or auxiliary vacuum pump. The conditions are an airtight suction line and a casing charge that is not drained between runs.
Can it be installed in a hazardous area?
Yes, provided the drive configuration is correct. The O Series close-coupled version uses an explosion-proof motor. Where the site has no power or requires an engine drive, consider the 80 Series Shield-A-Spark spark-arrested package. The hazardous-area classification is determined by the project's design authority, and Thai Khuong selects equipment to match that classification.
Which model reaches the 122 m head?
The 122 m figure is the maximum head published for the line as a whole, not for every model. Each port size has its own performance curve, and actual head depends on operating flow and fluid specific gravity. Thai Khuong engineers read the curves to select the model that meets the project's real duty point.
What about warranty and spare parts?
Warranty follows Gorman-Rupp policy, up to 60 months depending on the pump line per document AV-05427, with the exact term stated in the quotation. Thai Khuong keeps spare-parts stock for the lines it distributes and provides technical support throughout the equipment's life.

Bơm tự mồi O Series là gì?

O Series là dòng bơm ly tâm tự mồi của Gorman-Rupp làm riêng cho lưu chất gốc dầu. Bơm đặt trên mặt
đất, hút chất lỏng lên qua đường ống hút nên không phải thả thiết bị xuống bồn hay hố chứa. Điểm khác biệt
so với các dòng tự mồi xử lý chất rắn của cùng hãng nằm ở đường hút thẳng trục (straight-in suction) và cánh
kín: thiết kế này cho hiệu suất cao hơn với nhiên liệu sạch, đồng thời bỏ được van một chiều ở cửa hút.
Gorman-Rupp sản xuất thiết bị cho lưu chất gốc dầu từ thập niên 1950 (tài liệu AV-05427), và O Series là dòng
gắn với mảng đó lâu nhất.

Nguyên lý tự mồi và vì sao bỏ được van đáy

Sau lần mồi đầu tiên, buồng bơm giữ lại một lượng chất lỏng. Khi khởi động lần sau, cánh bơm khuấy
lượng chất lỏng này tạo thành hỗn hợp lỏng – khí, đẩy khí trong đường hút ra ngoài qua cửa xả cho tới khi cột
chất lỏng dâng lên tới cánh. Toàn bộ quá trình diễn ra không cần van đáy dưới bồn, không cần bơm chân không
phụ trợ. Với kho nhiên liệu, việc bỏ van đáy có giá trị thực tế: bớt một chi tiết ngâm trong xăng dầu phải
kiểm tra định kỳ, và người vận hành không phải mở bồn để xử lý khi van kẹt.

O Series có cỡ họng từ 2″ đến 6″ (50 – 150 mm), lưu lượng tối đa 1.350 GPM tương đương 307 m³/h, cột áp
tối đa 400 ft tương đương 122 m và nhiệt độ lưu chất tối đa 71 °C. Bơm nuốt được hạt rắn tới 18 mm, đủ cho
cặn và tạp chất thường gặp trong nhiên liệu nhưng dòng này không nhằm xử lý nước thải nhiều rác. Vật liệu
gồm nhôm, đồng thau, gang và gang dẻo, chọn theo loại nhiên liệu và yêu cầu chống ăn mòn tại công trình.
Bản close-coupled lắp động cơ phòng nổ dùng cho khu vực có phân loại vùng nguy hiểm.

Real-world applications

Tài liệu hãng liệt kê các nhóm việc quen thuộc của O Series: kho xăng dầu đầu mối và tổng kho, bãi bồn
chứa, sà lan, toa xe lửa chở nhiên liệu, xe bồn, tra nạp nhiên liệu máy bay, cùng các loại lưu chất xăng,
dầu FO, ethanol, biodiesel, hoá dầu và dung môi. Ở Việt Nam, dải phù hợp nhất là các trạm xuất nhập nhiên
liệu, kho trung chuyển của nhà máy dùng dầu FO làm nhiên liệu đốt, và hệ chuyển dung môi trong công nghiệp
hoá chất.

Lưu ý khi chọn và lắp đặt

Ba điểm cần chốt trước khi chọn model. Thứ nhất là loại nhiên liệu: mỗi công thức nhiên liệu đòi hỏi
vật liệu gasket và mặt seal khác nhau, hãng dùng seal Viton hoặc Teflon cho phần lớn cấu hình xăng dầu. Thứ
hai là phân loại vùng nguy hiểm tại vị trí lắp: nếu thuộc vùng có nguy cơ cháy nổ thì phải chọn bản động cơ
phòng nổ, hoặc chuyển sang bản dẫn động động cơ đốt trong có che chắn tia lửa như 80 Series Shield-A-Spark.
Thứ ba là chiều cao hút và chiều dài đường ống hút, vì hai yếu tố này quyết định thời gian mồi và khả năng
giữ mồi khi vận hành gián đoạn.
