Bơm ly tâm không đẩy nổi lưu chất quá đặc. Họ bánh răng ăn khớp trong G Series của Gorman-Rupp (Mỹ, từ 1933) thuộc nhóm bơm thể tích: lưu lượng gần như không đổi khi áp suất thay đổi, chạy được nhựa đường, dầu FO nặng, mật rỉ và dầu bôi trơn. Bản GHS đạt độ nhớt tới 440.000 cSt và nhiệt độ tới 357 °C, áp suất tới 21 bar.
Khe hở giữa bánh răng và nắp trên G Series điều chỉnh được từ bên ngoài. Khi mài mòn làm khe hở lớn dần, chỉnh lại là lấy được đặc tính về mà không phải thay cụm quay ngay. Đây là khác biệt đáng kể về chi phí vòng đời.
Thân bơm kiểu back pull-out cho phép rút cụm quay ra kiểm tra mà không tháo thân bơm khỏi đường ống. Nắp sau kiểu flex backhead nhận nhiều phương án làm kín: gioăng nén hoặc phớt cơ khí dạng component, kèm kênh thông hơi seal làm mát khoang phớt.
Bản GHA dùng gang tôi cứng cho thân và các vùng ma sát, chốt idler cùng bạc idler bằng carbide. Dành cho sơn có bột màu, keo có phụ gia, bùn dầu lẫn cặn. Dải độ nhớt của GHA là 54.000 cSt, thấp hơn GHS.
Bốn bản chính bù trừ nhau: GHS 136 m³/h ở 21 bar và 440.000 cSt · GMS 136 m³/h nhưng 10 bar và 54.000 cSt · GHC chỉ 24,3 m³/h nhưng vẫn 21 bar trong thân 1"–3" · GMC 8,6 m³/h ở 14 bar, có bản liền trục cho vị trí lắp chật.
