Why Schurco

Sludge pump dedicated for abrasive applications

In slurry pumps, wet-end service life & lifecycle cost are decisive. Schurco designs each series for each slurry class.

01

Slurry specialists since 1975

U.S. manufacturer focused exclusively on slurry pumps — wet-end designs for abrasive & corrosive slurries.

02

7 series covering every slurry class

Lined (S/L/H), unlined (U/P/Z) and vertical (V) — Slurry Class I–IV, flow rate up to 6,800 m³/h.

03

Hi-chrome M09 material

High-chrome iron (Cr 32–35%, 450+ HBN, pH 1–14) resistant to abrasion & corrosion; multiple rubber/metal options.

04

Zero-leak expeller seal

Optional expeller seal operates without seal water — reduces water consumption & slurry leakage.

05

Optimized service life & maintenance

Large shaft, short overhang, wide clearances reduce internal velocity — less wear, easy field wet-end replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pump FAQ Schurco

What is Schurco Slurry?
Schurco Slurry® is a U.S. slurry pump manufacturer, founded in 1975 (formerly S&H Machinery), headquartered & manufacturing at Jacksonville, Florida. The company specializes in centrifugal pumps for abrasive slurry in mining, mineral processing, construction materials, energy and heavy industry, ISO 9001:2015 certified.
What is the difference between lined and unlined slurry pumps?
Lined pumps (Lined — S/L/H) have a replaceable rubber or metal liner, optimized for highly abrasive / corrosive slurry and extended wet-end service life. Unlined pumps (Unlined — U/P/Z) use a solid metal bowl casing, simple, low-cost, easy to maintain — suitable for mild slurry, dirty water, large particles or dredging.
What is the M09 wear-resistant material?
M09 is Schurco's high-chrome iron alloy (Cr 32–35%, hardness 450+ HBN, pH 1–14 resistant) — abrasion & corrosion resistance exceeding standard chrome iron, suitable for phosphoric acid, FGD, sulfuric acid and high-chloride environments. Beyond M09, the wet end also offers multiple rubber/metal options by slurry type.
Which Schurco series should I select for my application?
S — lined workhorse for the whole plant (Class I–IV); L — high flow rate, high efficiency (up to 6,800 m³/h); H — high head, hydrotransport & slurry pressing (up to 100 m, 5,170 kPa); U — unlined, low cost; P — chrome-iron for dewatering & high-head dirty water (up to 128 m); Z — large particles, dredging / gravel; V — vertical sump pump, no submerged bearings. TKT engineers select based on flow rate, head, particle size and slurry corrosivity.
Which industries use Schurco pumps?
Hard rock mining (gold, copper, iron, zinc…), mineral processing (frac sand, phosphate, coal, alumina), construction materials (sand, gravel, dredging), energy (FGD flue gas desulfurization, ash handling), industrial (pulp, steel making, slag, sugar) — wherever abrasive solid-liquid mixtures need to be pumped.
