The impeller is mounted directly on the motor shaft and, together with the specially shaped casing, forms a side channel.

The pumped medium is drawn in, compressed in the side channel, and transferred to the second stage after one revolution. There it is compressed again before being discharged. In this way, a side channel blower can be used to generate both vacuum and blown air. The rated power of the motor determines the maximum differential pressure of the blower. Two silencers fitted on the inlet and outlet sides ensure quiet operation.
